Ashes2Ashes Tour

The Ashes2Ashes Tour, launched in 2024, was created to highlight the rich culture of cigars and provide an immersive look into the experience of cigar industry. One of the most visited countries closely associated with early cigar making and smoking is the Dominican Republic, a destination deeply rooted in centuries of tobacco tradition and craftsmanship. Through this tour, participants gain a deeper understanding of the history of cigars -- from their origins in the soil, the careful process of cultivation and production, to the rituals and social experience surronding cigar smoking today. By connecting past and present, the Ashes2Ashes Tour offers an authentic exploration of how cigars evolved into a globally respected cultural and artisanal product.

In 2024, the Ashes2Ashes Tour began at La Galera Cigars Factory,  where participants spent the day gaining hands-on insight into the cigar-making process, with a particular emphasis on how tobacco leaves are prepared for cigar construction. The group dedicated two to three hours to learning about the company's background, production methods, and cigar offerings while building meaningful connections with factory employees. The visit concluded with lunch alongside Jose "Jochy" Blanco, owner of La Galera Cigars, who shared his personal journey, industry expertise, and the story of how he built the company from the ground up. The tour continued with visits to other key industry locations, including La Aurora, Tabacalera Puentes, and Noah Restaurant. Each stop offered a distinct perspective on the craftsmanship, business operations, and cultural significance of cigars within the Dominican Republic. Together, these experience provided participants with a well-rounded understanding of the cigar industry, highlighting both its artisanal traditions and its modern-day impact.

In 2025, the tour continued its exploration of the cigar industry with visits to La Galera, Carlito Fuentes, and La Aurora, along with a stop at Villiger, in Santo Domingo. These experiences allowed participants  to observe a range of production styles and business approaches while gaining a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship, heritage, and global impact of the Dominican cigar industry.
